Missed intercom calls and no-answer at the desk

Troubleshooting · 1 min read · from the Veni help library

When visitors say no one answered (at a resident's phone or at the front desk) Veni records it, so you can see the pattern and fix the cause rather than guessing.

At the front desk

Open the front-desk building's Front Desk tab. The Last 7 days at the desk coverage strip marks missed calls with a red dot, and a Needs attention card flags when misses are clustering at a certain hour, usually a coverage gap. Use See pattern to drill in. If the strip shows the desk was empty when calls came in, the fix is coverage, not the hardware.

In the activity log

The building Activity tab has a ⚑ Flagged filter that surfaces missed and no-answer events. A missed call is an incoming call no one picked up; a no-answer is an outgoing call the other side didn't take. Rows offer Call back and Message so you can follow up directly.

For resident calls

If visitors can't reach a specific resident, check whether that resident has Do not disturb turned on in their app; it silences incoming visitor calls. Confirm they've allowed lock-screen ring notifications so calls wake their phone.

Answered calls capture a summary (and, with VeniAI on, an AI-written note). If someone is missing calls during their shift, their scorecard's 30-day answer rate on the Front Desk roster will show it.
