Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Veni for use of the resident app and the Veni service.

Effective 6 August 2026 · Last updated 6 August 2026

By creating a Veni account or using the Veni app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree to them, don't use the service.

1. The service

Veni provides intercom, door access, front-desk, maintenance, and resident communication software for apartment buildings. Your access to Veni exists because the owner or manager of your building has chosen to use it and has invited you as a resident of a specific unit.

Your building's owner or manager, not Veni, decides who is on the resident roster, which doors you may open, and which features are enabled at your building. If your tenancy ends or your building stops using Veni, your access ends with it.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use Veni.
  • You must provide accurate information and keep your contact details current.
  • Your account is yours alone. Do not share your sign-in credentials, and do not let another person use your account to open doors.
  • Tell us promptly at support@helloveni.com if you believe someone else has access to your account.

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account in the app. See the privacy policy for exactly what deletion does.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Veni to give building access to anyone you are not authorized to admit.
  • Interfere with, disable, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service, any door hardware, or any other user's account.
  • Use the service to harass, threaten, stalk, defraud, or impersonate anyone.
  • Upload content you do not have the right to share, or that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Use automated means to scrape or extract data from the service.
  • Use Veni for any unlawful purpose, or in violation of your building's rules or your lease.

4. Community content and zero tolerance for abuse

Where your building enables them, Veni includes community channels and direct messages between residents and staff. Content you post there is yours, and you are responsible for it.

There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior on Veni. Objectionable content includes anything that is harassing, threatening, hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit, violent, defamatory, or that targets another resident, guest, or staff member.

You can report any message and block any user from within the app. We review reports and act on them within 24 hours, and we may remove content and suspend or terminate the account of anyone who violates this section, without notice and at our sole discretion.

By posting content, you grant Veni a limited licence to store, transmit, and display it for the purpose of operating the service, nothing more. We do not use your content for advertising, and we do not sell it.

We are not obligated to monitor community content, but we may do so. Reports go to support@helloveni.com as well as through the in-app report control.

5. Door access and safety

Veni is a convenience layer over your building's access control. It is not a life-safety system, a fire alarm, or a monitored security service, and it must not be relied on as one.

Network outages, power loss, device failure, a discharged phone battery, and hardware faults can all prevent a door from opening or a call from ringing. Keep a physical key or your building's backup access method available. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

You are responsible for the guest passes you issue and for the people you admit to the building.

6. Fees

Residents are not charged by Veni for the resident app. Your building pays for the service under a separate agreement. If we ever introduce a resident-paid feature, it will be clearly identified as such before you are charged.

7. Privacy

Our handling of personal information is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

8. Intellectual property

Veni and its software, design, and trademarks belong to us. These terms grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for its intended purpose while you are an authorized resident. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the software.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if your building instructs us to, or if your tenancy ends. You may stop using Veni and delete your account at any time. Sections 4, 8, 10, 11, and 12 survive termination.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VENI WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply to you only to the extent permitted.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and Veni agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in New York County, New York.

13. Apple App Store

If you obtained the app from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these terms are between you and Veni only, not Apple; that Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app; and that Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

14. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will give notice in the app or by email before it takes effect, and the "last updated" date above will change. Continuing to use Veni after a change takes effect means you accept the revised terms.
